Job summary

Trial Balance Consulting Ltd. in Newton Abbot is seeking a Senior Practice Manager to lead a substantial client portfolio, work closely with Partners and help shape the future direction of the firm.

You will oversee accounts, VAT and tax compliance, attend client meetings, mentor staff and manage workflow, WIP, budgets and billing across the portfolio, while developing new business and strengthening long-term relationships with clients and colleagues.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification with post-qualification experience in practice.
• Experience advising clients across accounts, tax and business matters.
• Strong IT and spreadsheet skills, cloud accounting familiarity.

This highly regarded accountancy practice in Newton Abbot is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Practice Manager. Working closely with the Partners, this role offers responsibility for a substantial client portfolio, team leadership duties and the opportunity to become a trusted advisor to a broad range of businesses and individuals.

• Managing and reviewing a varied portfolio of clients, ensuring work is completed to a high standard and within deadlines

The successful Senior Practice Manager will hold ACA or ACCA qualification status and possess significant post-qualified experience gained within an accountancy practice environment.

You'll have strong technical knowledge across accounts preparation, business and corporate taxation, VAT and client management, together with the confidence to oversee a varied portfolio with minimal supervision. Experience managing and developing staff will be important, alongside the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues alike.

As a Senior Practice Manager, you'll be commercially aware, highly organised and comfortable balancing client demands, operational responsibilities and team leadership duties. Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage, together with strong IT and spreadsheet skills, would be advantageous.
