Job summary

Butler Rose is recruiting a Senior Practice Manager for its Yorkshire team. This role focuses on strengthening the practice at site level, driving operational excellence, and building a high-performing team to deliver exceptional client service.

The successful candidate will lead day-to-day operations, manage performance, and work with senior leadership to execute growth strategies while upholding UK GAAP standards and regulatory compliance.

Senior Practice Manager

Salary up to £60,000 (DOE)

Butler Rose is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing UK accountancy firm to recruit a Senior Practice Manager for its Yorkshire team.

You’ll take a lead role in strengthening the practice at site level, driving operational excellence, developing a high-performing team, and ensuring clients continue to receive an exceptional level of service.

Role Requirements

• Provide strong leadership and direction across the practice.
• Take overall responsibility for day-to-day site operations and performance.
• Lead, coach and develop the team, creating a high-performance culture.
• Manage employee performance, development and engagement.
• Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients.
• Support client retention, growth and business development.
• Ensure consistently high standards of service and technical quality.
• Maintain effective governance, risk management and compliance processes.
• Ensure the practice operates in accordance with relevant UK accounting, tax and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, technology and ways of working.
• Monitor operational and financial performance against agreed objectives.
• Work closely with senior leadership to deliver the wider growth strategy.
• Act as a visible ambassador for the firms values and client-first approach.

Role Requirements

• ACA, ACCA qualified
• Solid and well-rounded experience gained within a UK accountancy practice.
• Demonstrable experience leading and managing teams.
• Experience of coaching, developing and managing employee performance.
• Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP.
• Good understanding of Companies Act requirements and HMRC compliance.
