Job summary

Butler Rose Ltd in Upminster is seeking an Accounts Semi-Senior/Junior to join our accountancy practice. The role covers bookkeeping, VAT, year-end accounts and tax returns for a varied portfolio, mainly owner-managed businesses.

You will interact with clients and progress bookkeeping and VAT work with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate is AAT-qualified or equivalent, has UK practice experience, and is either pursuing ACCA/ACA or keen to start professional studies.

Qualifications

• AAT qualified or equivalent with UK practice experience.
• Experience with bookkeeping, VAT, year-end accounts and tax returns.
• Studying towards ACCA/ACA or willing to start professional studies.

Responsibilities

• Work with a portfolio of predominantly owner-managed businesses.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Carry out bookkeeping and maintain accurate records.
• Prepare year-end accounts.
• Prepare year-end tax returns.
• Handle client queries and provide day-to-day support.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Use accounting software VT, Taxpad, Xero and QuickBooks.
