Job Description:

Based in Alzenau near Frankfurt in Germany, Hyundai Motorsport GmbH is responsible for Hyundai’s global motorsport activities and primarily for its World Rally Championship program. We are currently seeking a Senior Powertrain Support Engineer who will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring powertrain activities during in-car tests and events.

• Show responsibility for the powertrain management system strategies and calibration preparation prior to events and tests
• Responsibility for the powertrain-specific test plan preparation and achievement during tests
• Monitor engine and gearbox data during tests and events (fire-ups, roll-outs, tests,...)
• Responsible for powertrain reporting after tests and events, including testing results, calibration, problems
• Liaise with the rest of the event team, including engineers and drivers, for all powertrain-related matters
• Responsible for powertrain activities, engine mechanics' jobs during events
• Be a source of proposals for technical problem-solving and performance improvements within the Powertrain group
• Support dyno calibration activities when needed

Qualifications

• M.Sc. or MEng with a technical engineering background in engines
• Previous experience in the motorsport environment (WRC, Endurance, GT, F1,...)
• A good understanding of internal combustion race engine fundamentals
• Experience in engine calibration
• Fluent English is mandatory
• Knowledge of Engine Management Systems and data analysis (Marelli or equivalent)
• Flexible approach to working hours and tasks is essential
• Ability to be part of a team and create a motivating environment
• Self-motivation and ability to manage & deliver tasks to meet commitments
