About the role

We have a new opportunity for a Senior Power Systems Engineer to join our HV team, based in any UK office.

This is an exciting time to join our HV team, which has a proven track record in Infrastructure, Mission Critical, and Data Centre sectors across the UK and Europe. You will work with a collaborative, knowledgeable, and engaged team that values flexibility, support, and high performance.

The role involves Power systems analysis on HV, MV, and LV distribution for infrastructure, Data Centre, and mission-critical projects.

Responsibilities include:

• Technical delivery and design calculations for electrical loads, utility connections, generators, UPS, renewable tech, earthing, and distribution systems for various building sectors.
• Producing design deliverables such as specifications, drawings, and schedules, including substations and connection points, load flow, fault level, harmonic, and protection studies.
• Conducting earth rise touch and potential studies.
• Engaging with stakeholders for timely delivery.
• Supporting invoicing, debt chasing, WIP management, and resource planning.
• Mentoring junior professionals and supporting their development.

About you

To succeed, you should have:

• Proven experience as a Power Systems or HV Engineer with a record of delivering complex projects.
• Experience with technical delivery processes and software such as BIM, Revit, CAD electrical, ETAP, Amtech, or EOM.
• Knowledge of high voltage substation design, earthing, CT calculations, arc flash, protection, and stability studies.
• Ability to model complex networks and perform advanced power system studies.
• Power quality expertise, including harmonic studies for G export applications.
• Skills in schematic design, fault discrimination, specifications, site inspections, and detailed design development.
• Experience with studies like G5/5 harmonics, load flow, fault, transient, and protection coordination studies.
• Additional experience in network resilience analysis is beneficial.
• Ability to work with clients, contractors, and architects in a consultancy role.
• Self-awareness, openness, and a collaborative spirit.
• Experience supporting others' development.
