Job summary

Matchtech Group seeks a Power Electronics Specialist to provide technical leadership across complex programmes, guiding teams on PMSM control, inverters and high-integrity systems. You will influence product development, engineering standards and future technologies from the on-site hub.

The role requires hands-on engineering, cross-functional collaboration and a focus on delivering robust, cost-effective solutions across the full lifecycle of motor control and power electronics projects.

Qualifications

• Strong power electronics background with PMSM control experience.
• Experience with power inverters, three-phase power stages and gate drive circuitry.
• Experience with DC-DC converters, current/position sensing, and analogue/digital sensing.
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacture (DfM) and Design for Test (DfT).
• Experience designing for EMC and environmental compliance.
• Understanding of safety-critical design methodologies and high-integrity systems.
• Appreciation of systems engineering, architecture, reliability and thermal management.

Responsibilities

• Act as first point of contact for technical and process advice within engineering teams.
• Mentor technical leads through engagement and reviews.
• Monitor progress and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
• Identify delivery risks and drive mitigation actions.
• Support governance activities, gate reviews and readiness assessments.
• Drive continuous improvement and adherence to engineering best practices.
