Job summary

KO2 Embedded Recruitment Solutions Ltd is working with a Newcastle-based client to hire a Senior Power Supply Engineer. The role focuses on designing, analysing and validating power electronics for EV charging and renewable energy products, in a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with power converters (AC:AC, DC:DC, DC:AC) and be capable of guiding designs from concept to production, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in design and testing of power electronic converters (AC:AC, DC:DC, DC:AC) or motor drive systems.
• Hands-on experience with simulation tools such as PLECS or equivalent.
• Ability to take designs from concept through to production.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyse and validate power electronic systems for EV charging and renewable energy products.
• Produce design specifications, test procedures and validation reports for development stages.
• Collaborate with production engineers to transition from prototype to manufacturing.
• Support PCB layout and CAD tasks to ensure manufacturability of hardware.
• Contribute to design reviews and clearly present technical findings.
• Provide engineering support during installation, commissioning and in-field deployment.
• Maintain ISO9001 compliance and internal QA processes.
