Summary of Role:

An exciting opportunity as a Senior Power Electronics Engineer in Nidec Drives R&D Department.

The role involves designing, developing, and implementing power electronics and auxiliary circuits, including component evaluation, circuit analysis, simulation, thermal and mechanical design, and PCB review.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Solid understanding of power electronics.
• Creating new designs, specifications, and developing analogue, digital, and electronic circuits for power electronics.
• Ensuring designs meet functional requirements and comply with EMC and Safety standards.
• Collaborating with external suppliers and participating in design reviews.
• Managing type test meetings and developing test equipment.
• Preparing technical documentation and reports.
• Participating in design reviews and providing constructive feedback.
• Supporting and guiding other Development Engineers.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Masters Degree (MEng) in Power Electronics.
• Proven engineering experience.
• Understanding of power electronic devices, topologies, and control systems.
• Experience with simulation tools (e.g., PLECS, Saber, Simetrix, Pspice, MATLAB Simulink).
• Interest in emerging technology and innovation.
• Knowledge of planning tools and theories.
• Chartered Engineer status (desirable).
