Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Power Electronics Engineer for an opportunity based in Wales.

This role will be within an established team working within the Motor Control and Drive Design department, where the main objectives are to design, create, and improve new drives and controllers for the industrial automation markets.

The role responsibilities will include:

• Creating new designs
• Designing critical power components
• Design and develop analogue and digital electronic circuits and systems for motor drives
• Product documentation and product design reviews
• Working to agreed time-scales, guiding and supporting other engineers

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering with a minimum of 3 years industry experience and must have a full understanding of power electronic devices, topologies, and control systems. Ideally, someone familiar with simulation tools, modelling, testing, and application of high-power semiconductor and passive components. Experience with thermal, mechanical, and EMC considerations for motor drives is preferred, along with strong communication skills and a willingness to work with a global team. You should be well-versed in AC-DC and AC-AC converters.
