Job summary

Laravel Cloud Infrastructure seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, PostgreSQL, to own the operator, automation, reliability, and best practices for PostgreSQL on Kubernetes and AWS. This is a build-it-from-the-ground-up role with latitude to define standards.

You will work on a fully remote team targeting EU and Eastern US time zones, using Go to develop Kubernetes operators, Terraform IAM, and ensure performance, backups, and DR. Collaboration across regions is essential for success.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software, platform, or infra engineering.
• Deep production PostgreSQL expertise.
• AWS or GCP production cloud design and ops.
• Kubernetes with stateful workloads and troubleshooting.
• CI/CD and GitOps experience.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, manage, and optimize PostgreSQL clusters on Kubernetes, owning high availability, performance, backups, and disaster recovery.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance Kubernetes operators and controllers in Go to automate database and platform operations.
• Design, build, and operate highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS across multiple accounts and regions.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, and automate the operational workflows that are still manual today.
• Improve reliability, scalability, and security through monitoring, observability, and proactive capacity planning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve developer experience, CI/CD pipelines, and platform automation.
• Define and promote best practices for database operations, and mentor engineers as our PostgreSQL expertise grows around you
