Job summary

Sectigo is seeking a hands-on PostgreSQL DBA to manage database services across on-premises infrastructure and Google Cloud Platform. The role blends production operations with migration projects, including moving from Community PostgreSQL to EDB Postgres and standardizing HA and consolidation.

The successful candidate will work with DBAs, SRE, and security teams, own runbooks, participate in on-call rotations, and drive automation using Ansible and Git.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, technology, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on PostgreSQL administration in production environments.
• Experience with EDB Postgres, EFM, Barman, PEM, and TPA.
• Strong knowledge of HA design, streaming replication, failover and switchovers.
• Proficient in SQL performance tuning, EXPLAIN ANALYZE, and indexing strategy.
• Solid Linux administration and scripting skills.
• Experience with Ansible, Git, GitHub, and version-controlled TPAs.
• Experience with PgBouncer and cloud platforms (GCP/AWS).

Responsibilities

• Administer PostgreSQL and EDB across on-prem and GCP.
• Configure and monitor EFM clusters, perform switchover tests.
• Manage backups with Barman, and perform DR testing.
• Set up monitoring/alerts with PEM, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Automate environments with Ansible/Spacelift and Git workflows.
• Configure replication, WAL, and failover recovery.
• Troubleshoot performance, tuning, and resource contention.
• Migrate Community PostgreSQL to EDB and consolidate databases.
