Job summary

Sectigo is seeking a hands-on PostgreSQL DBA to manage both on-premises and GCP deployments. The role focuses on production operations, migrations, high-availability, and automation, collaborating with DBAs, SRE, and security teams.

The position is full-time and remote within the U.K., with a target GBP 50,000–54,000 depending on experience. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of PostgreSQL experience, familiarity with EDB Postgres/EFM, and strong scripting and monitoring skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information systems or related field, or 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of PostgreSQL administration in production environments.
• Hands-on with EDB Postgres, EFM, Barman, PEM, and monitoring with Prometheus/Grafana.
• Strong knowledge of HA design, replication, backups, and disaster recovery.

Responsibilities

• Administer the full PostgreSQL/EDB lifecycle including installation, configuration, upgrades, and security.
• Configure and operate EDB Failover Manager clusters and perform failovers/test cutovers.
• Manage backups, WAL, recovery, and disaster-recovery testing with defined RPO/RTO.
• Monitor and alert with PEM; maintain integrations and on-call readiness.
• Develop automation with Ansible/TPA and version control with Git/GitHub.
• Plan migrations and consolidation, including Community PostgreSQL to EDB migrations.
