Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage DLP and construction run‑off liability issues on assigned projects, identifying, assessing, and resolving defects.
  • Conduct post‑completion inspections, defects investigations, and site surveys across various developments.
  • Support QA/QC interventions and inspections throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in quality assurance audits and document findings with corrective actions.
  • Prepare defect reports, schedules of works, and supporting documentation for clients and contractors.
  • Liaise with site teams, contractors, clients, and supply chain partners to resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain records and ensure contractual and regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and share best practices within the team.
  • Ensure remediation works comply with Bouygues policies and health and safety requirements.

Role Overview

As a Senior Post Completion Officer, you will be responsible for managing DLP and construction run-off liability issues on assigned projects, working under the guidance of senior team leaders to identify, assess, and resolve defects across a diverse portfolio of high-profile developments.

Location & Coverage

Bristol Office with regional responsibility covering assigned projects across the South West & Wales, with flexibility to travel as project requirements demand.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage DLP and construction run-off liability issues on assigned projects, identifying, assessing, and resolving defects.
  • Conduct thorough post-completion inspections, defects investigations, and site surveys across residential, commercial, healthcare, education, and mixed-use developments
  • Support quality control and assurance interventions and inspections throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with agreed standards and specifications
  • Participate in quality assurance audits and assessments, documenting findings and supporting the implementation of corrective actions
  • Prepare detailed defect reports, schedules of works, and supporting documentation for clients and contractors
  • Liaise with site teams, contractors, clients, and supply chain partners to facilitate timely resolution of identified issues
  • Maintain accurate records and project documentation, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and share best practice learnings with the wider team
  • Support the implementation of quality standards across the project lifecycle
  • Ensure all defect remediation works comply with Bouygues policies, relevant Health and Safety legislation, and site-specific health and safety requirements
  • Coordinate with contractors and site teams to identify and manage health and safety risks associated with remedial works, ensuring appropriate risk assessments and method statements are in place prior to work commencement
  • Monitor contractor compliance with health and safety standards during defect remediation activities and elevate any non‑compliance or unsafe practices to senior management
  • Maintain records of health and safety documentation related to defect remediation, including risk assessments, method statements, and incident reports
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all remediation activities are conducted in accordance with Bouygues UK's health and safety policies and procedures
Essential Criteria:
  • Strong foundation in construction, building surveying, or project management disciplines, with demonstrable post‑completion or defects management experience
  • Solid understanding of construction methodologies, building regulations, and contractual frameworks
  • Technical competence in building inspection, defect identification, and remedial solution assessment
  • Experience supporting quality control and assurance processes within construction environments
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects effectively and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
  • Knowledge of fire safety regulations and compliance procedures
  • Reliability, integrity, and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel across assigned regions
