Job summary

Arup is seeking a Principal Policy Planner to lead assignments for national and local planning projects in the UK. You will work with government departments, authorities and developers to shape policy frameworks and delivery strategies.

You will manage client relationships, pursue strategic opportunities, and contribute to business growth through governance and senior stakeholder engagement. The role offers a chance to influence major infrastructure and growth initiatives across the country.

Qualifications

• Degree in town planning or geography; MRTPI membership preferred.
• Experience with policy development and client consultation at national/local levels.
• Ability to articulate complex planning issues and prepare clear reports.

Responsibilities

• Manage assignments for public and private sector clients within Arup's CPD portfolio.
• Develop and pursue strategic opportunities to grow the town planning business.
• Maintain senior relationships and lead client engagements across government and developers.
• Help win new contracts and contribute to governance and delivery strategies.
