Job summary

Arup is seeking Principal Policy Planners to lead planning policy work across a variety of public and private sector clients. You will manage assignments, develop client relationships with government departments and local authorities, and drive growth for the town planning business across Arup's national CPD portfolio.

The role focuses on governance, delivery vehicles, and strategic planning, with opportunities to influence major projects and policy frameworks.

Qualifications

• Degree in town planning or similar (e.g. geography) and MRTPI membership.
• Knowledge of planning legislation and planning policy.
• Ability to prepare policy documents and advise clients on policy issues at all levels – national through local.
• Experience attending client meetings and contributing to town planning business development.
• Ability to articulate complex issues, write reports, present effectively, and manage client relationships.
• Commercial/financial management applicable to profitable project management.
