Job description

The Senior Policy Officer in the Governance team delivers authoritative advice and assurance across a range of governance domains including board and director roles and responsibilities, strategic and operational planning and reporting, organisational performance, risk management, and the conduct of relevant statutory processes.

The Senior Policy Officer is a critical contributor to the portfolio entity support and oversight service, which supports statutory accountabilities and the achievement of government policy outcomes.

The role will suit a motivated and conscientious person who is interested in the responsible delivery of public services and is capable of sustaining sound relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

Specialist / Technical Expertise / Qualifications

  • Qualifications in areas relevant to public entity governance – such as law, accounting, financial management, or business management – will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting common financial documents is desirable.

This is a fixed-term position available for a period of 6 months. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson St, East Melbourne, with hybrid work arrangements available.
