Because of this, we want our recruitment process to be as inclusive and as accessible as possible and we recognise that requires us to be as flexible as we can whilst also preserving the integrity of a fair and transparent process.

Similarly, we appreciate that people’s individual skills and experience may not neatly map to a particular role profile and encourage applications from other professions.

About Camden

Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help design a better future for us all.

How You’ll Be Involved

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Senior Policy and Projects Officer to join our Supporting Communities Strategy Team. You will play a vital role in strategy and policy development, service improvement, and transformation, ensuring Camden remains the best place to live, work, study, and visit.

In this position, you will lead and support complex strategy initiatives and use data and insights to inform decision-making, helping us realise our vision of “We Make Camden” and deliver on our missions. Key responsibilities include delivering projects, collaborating with diverse teams, and engaging and supporting frontline staff with change. Current areas of need include homelessness, rough sleeping, ASB and neighbourhood working, but this is a generalist role which could make use of all your skills, background and past experience.

We want to give everyone the same chance to showcase their relevant skills and experience, so we ask you to follow a set formula in your application statement. It should clearly answer these four prompts, in order:

A. Problem solving and analysis - Tell us about a time when you have had to use evidence to make recommendations. How did you land your message?

B. Communication and storytelling - Tell us about a time when you have worked with senior stakeholders and / or politicians. How did you make the most of your time with them?

C. Engaging and involving stakeholders - Tell us about a time when you have worked directly with residents, communities or external partners. What were some of the main challenges, and how did you overcome them?

D. Managing projects and programmes - Tell us about a time when you have worked on long-term, complex projects. How did you ensure that you and the team delivered on your aims?

2. 1-hour interview with three Camden staff - we’ll send you the 4-5 questions and short presentation task in advance, and ensure that there’s plenty of time at the interview for you to ask any questions you have at this stage in the process.

3. Offer and feedback - if you’re successful at the interview stage, we’ll contact you with the details of your job offer, along with some feedback on your performance throughout the process.

4. Onboarding - once your offer is accepted and the start date agreed, we’ll make sure there’s a plan in place for your first few weeks to make sure you have the information and support needed to ease into your career at Camden.
