Overview

Senior Policy Adviser

Division – Supervision Policy and Competition

Salary – National (Edinburgh and Leeds) ranging from £52,400 to £68,000 and London £57,700 to £70,000 per annum (Salary offered will be based on skills and experience)

About the FCA

The FCA regulates the conduct of 45,000 firms in the UK to ensure our financial markets are honest, fair and competitive. The FCA’s Policy teams develop the rules and guidance that financial services firms follow to make sure financial markets work well, driving meaningful change that protects consumers, promotes competition, and strengthens markets.

Responsibilities
  • We’re looking for Senior Policy Advisers to join one of two areas: Market specific Policy teams (e.g., Pensions Policy) and Cross-cutting Policy teams that work across financial services sectors to set standards for firms and partners we regulate.
  • Lead policy development and delivery on a diverse portfolio of initiatives central to delivering the FCA’s 5-year strategy.
  • Collaborate with a broad network across the FCA and external stakeholders, including government departments, consumer representatives, and industry partners.
  • Examples of work include embedding the Consumer Duty across financial services, modernising the Handbook, reforming the redress framework, and shaping policy on emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence.
