A regional health service is seeking a qualified Podiatrist to support aged care clients in Tamworth through comprehensive foot health care. You will be involved in a High-Risk Foot Clinic, require a valid driver's license for rural travel, and be part of a caring multidisciplinary team focused on improving patient outcomes. This temporary full-time role offers a competitive salary and the opportunity for community engagement in a vibrant regional lifestyle.
About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified and motivated Podiatrist to participate in our High-Risk Foot Clinic, where you will play a critical role in the prevention, early detection, and management of complex foot conditions. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care plans that improve outcomes and enhance quality of life for these vulnerable patients.
This role also supports the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) clinics, assisting aged care clients to maintain mobility, independence, and overall foot health, enabling them to remain safely in their homes and communities.
Additionally, you will have the unique opportunity to participate in outreach services through the Rural Flying Doctor Service, extending podiatry care to regional communities across the New England region, primarily Inverell and Moree. This outreach work is vital in ensuring equitable access to foot health services, and may involve traveling to rural clinic sites and occasional overnight stays.
Where you'll be working:
This role is part of New England Community Aged Care Services (NECACS), a dedicated team that provides a wide range of podiatry and allied health services to support the wellbeing of aged care clients across the region. Working with NECACS means being part of an innovative service that focuses on delivering person-centred care and improving health outcomes for some of the most vulnerable members of the community. You will join our skilled multidisciplinary team, working closely with Physios, OTs, and Aboriginal Health Workers, whilst also attending meetings with our medical officers, diabetes services, Aboriginal workforce, and nurse practitioners.
Based in Tamworth, you’ll enjoy the benefits of living in a vibrant regional city that offers the best of both worlds: a welcoming rural community and the amenities of a modern urban centre. Known for its rich cultural heritage, excellent schools, and beautiful natural surroundings, Tamworth is the perfect place to establish a rewarding career and a balanced lifestyle.
Whether you’re exploring national parks, enjoying the local café scene, or participating in the city’s famous events like the Tamworth Country Music Festival, you’ll quickly feel at home in this thriving regional hub. With the opportunity to combine meaningful work with the lifestyle benefits of regional living, this position offers the best of both professional and personal worlds.
We highly value connection and camaraderie, with regular opportunities to come together outside of the workplace. A highlight on the calendar is the annual trip to AgQuip, Australia’s largest agricultural field day, where the team enjoys exploring new innovations, engaging with the community, and building strong team relationships in a relaxed setting.
About You:
