Job description

B6 and/or B5 Developmental Post.

To work as part of Enfield Community Services' Podiatry Department, delivering care to a multi-cultural and diverse population. The role involves providing high-standard podiatry interventions within service areas such as high-risk routine care, nail surgery, domiciliary care, MSK foot, and diabetic services. We are a small, friendly, and committed team seeking a like-minded, enthusiastic podiatrist to join us.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Undertaking all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner, professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, including patient management.
  2. Managing own caseload and being responsible for a defined service area or patient group, working independently with supervision through regular clinical reasoning sessions, peer and case reviews. Support from senior podiatrists is available via phone, email, or on-site.
  3. Using effective verbal and non-verbal communication tools to engage with patients and carers, including those with communication difficulties such as dysphasia, depression, deafness, blindness, or inability to accept diagnosis.
  4. Managing clinical risk within own patient caseload in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
  5. Assessing and managing risk when working alone in domiciliary or clinical settings.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients with complex or diverse presentations, using advanced clinical reasoning and assessment techniques to diagnose conditions accurately.
  2. Formulating and implementing individual podiatric treatment plans based on evidence-based practice and advanced assessment techniques.
  3. Assessing patient understanding, obtaining informed consent, and working within a legal framework, including with patients lacking capacity.
  4. Monitoring patient progress, reassessing, and modifying treatment plans as needed, leading to discharge and promoting self-care, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  5. Maintaining accurate, comprehensive electronic patient records in line with professional standards and trust policies.
