An excellent opportunity is available for an enthusiastic, flexible, and motivated podiatrist to join our committed and progressive Podiatry team.

You will have post-graduate experience and training in Musculoskeletal / Biomechanical conditions of the lower limb. You will work within a team and also be expected to work autonomously, acting as a resource of expertise. Experience in Shockwave Therapy and use of pressure plate gait analysis software will be beneficial, although full training will be provided.

Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills are essential. Your role will include providing specialist input into multidisciplinary case conferences with teams such as Orthopedics, Rheumatology, and Sports Medicine.

You should demonstrate empathy, resilience, a methodical approach, and problem-solving aptitude using your initiative.

You will also be involved in wound care, nail surgery, prevention clinics, and mentoring students.

Part of the role involves educating other healthcare professionals through practical workshops on musculoskeletal conditions of the foot.

You will be expected to actively participate in professional development and clinical supervision, fostering growth within yourself and the team, including students. The role is based at the National University Hospital in the Western Cluster of Singapore.

The Challenges

  1. To autonomously assess, diagnose, and manage patients with diverse medical and podiatric conditions using appropriate diagnostic techniques and tools.
  2. To recognize acute MSK and high-risk foot presentations and make suitable referrals.
  3. To recommend and interpret diagnostic tests such as bloods and x-rays, acting on the data provided.
  4. To practice within your professional and clinical competence and seek support when needed.
  5. To adhere to department policies on clinical governance, health and safety, and infection control.
  6. To manage or assist in managing a clinical area, ensuring optimal utilization of capacity.
  7. To collaborate with healthcare professionals and participate in case conferences.
  8. To participate in clinical research and review/update protocols and procedures.
  9. To contribute to service and quality improvement projects.
  10. To lead or contribute to departmental training and educational talks.
  11. To engage in continuous professional development of podiatry knowledge and skills.
  12. To supervise junior staff and manage teams within your scope.

The Requirements

  • A recognized Degree in Podiatry.
  • Post-graduate degree in a relevant area preferred.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Positive, collaborative attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
