Are you a Podiatrist ready for a new challenge? Do you want to live in the thriving multi‑cultural Southwest with easy access to the countryside, city and sea? If so, we are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Podiatrist to join our team.

You will be joining a motivated, supportive and friendly team that works across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, with a proven track record of internal career promotion to senior roles.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and the ability to work under pressure as an individual and as part of the wider team. You will work as an autonomous practitioner using evidence‑based practice to formulate and deliver individualised treatment plans for patients in community clinical and secondary outpatient settings as well as in people’s homes. You will apply appropriate clinical reasoning to manage a varied caseload consisting of high‑risk, diabetes, wound care and biomechanics patients. You will work alongside experienced podiatrists and be encouraged in your professional development, having access to regular one‑to‑one supervision and clinical supervision.

You will participate in rotations for nail surgery, specialist diabetes foot care MDT clinics, and biomechanics.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high standard of podiatric care to maintain tissue viability, mobility and independence for high‑risk patients or those with an acute infection, delivered through assessment, diagnosis and development of care plans. This includes specialist care plans for patients with acute and chronic neuropathies, vascular, neurological, tissue viability and wound care management, diabetes, musculoskeletal and rheumatological problems.
• Be responsible, as a senior practitioner, for prioritising and supervising your own workload.
• Support, mentor and supervise junior staff, students and apprentices.
• Organise and forward‑plan the day‑to‑day running of your podiatry clinics and domiciliary sessions, assess new patients and act as a point of contact for any clinical or administrative issues or problems arising with the Podiatry Service.
• Triage referrals and re‑direct where appropriate, following relevant pathways.
• Contribute to multi‑disciplinary care by discussing your and others’ input around patients’ needs, ensuring a well‑coordinated care plan and agreeing on shared decision‑making for individual patient management.
