The Portland Hospital for Women & Children in London is seeking a Senior Paediatric Play Specialist to join the team. You will assess needs, devise play programmes for children in hospital, monitor progress and work with a multidisciplinary team to support each child’s journey through care.

Qualificações

• Foundation Degree in Healthcare Play Specialism or Level 4 Diploma in Specialised Play for Sick Children and Young People.
• Significant post-qualification experience working with children/young people in a hospital environment.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Paediatric Play Specialist to join our team at The Portland Hospital, currently rated “Good” by the CQC. The Portland Hospital is the only independent hospital in the UK entirely dedicated to women and children. Our inpatientand outpatientspecialtiesreflect this,providing clinical expertise inPaediatrics, Obstetrics and Women’s Health.

As a Senior Play Specialist you will undertake therapeutic assessments and devise play programmes for children and young people in hospital, according to their individual needs and as part of the overall care plan. You will monitor, evaluate and modify therapeutic interventions in order to measure child’s progress and ensure effectiveness of care plan, working in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to meet the overall care plan for children.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced Play Specialist who is looking to progress into a senior position. You will have the opportunity to build on your clinical expertise, support and mentor junior colleagues, contribute to the ongoing development of the service and make a meaningful impact on the experiences of children and families throughout their hospital journey.
