Job summary

Baringa in the United Kingdom is hiring a Senior Engineer to help shape and deliver a greenfield Data and Processing Platform and related software products. You will collaborate with internal developers, energy system modellers, and client-facing experts to drive robust engineering practices and cross-team collaboration.

The role covers front-end and back-end technologies (Angular/React/Blazor, FastAPI, Spring/Spring Boot/.NET) with cloud (AWS/Azure) and IaC (Terraform/Pulumi).

Qualifications

• Senior engineer with practical experience in high-performing teams.
• Strong knowledge of Python, Java, C#, or TypeScript.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL/Databricks.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, cloud (AWS/Azure), and IaC (Terraform or Pulumi).
• Experience across frontend (Angular/React/Blazor) and backend (FastAPI/Spring Boot/.NET).
• Ability to justify technology and architectural choices.
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Strong communication for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Shape design, implementation, and ongoing support of a greenfield Data and Processing Platform and related software products.
• Support Engineering Lead in engaging with internal developers, energy system modellers, client-facing energy experts, and other users.
• Help build capabilities enabling teams to work more effectively and better serve clients.
• Drive engineering best practices to ensure quality, reliability, and observability in products.
• Design and implement robust CI/CD automation flows and continuously improve engineering processes.
• Take an active role in all stages of the Agile development lifecycle from refinement to delivery.

Requirements:

• We are looking for a senior engineer with practical experience in high-performing engineering teams.

• We value working knowledge of data management technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, or Databricks.
• We value working knowledge of modern software engineering tools, including Git, CI/CD pipelines, cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
• We value experience across the technology stack, including front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, or Blazor, and/or back-end frameworks such as FastAPI, Spring Boot, or .NET.
