Job summary

IG Group in City of London is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to own IG's Akamai edge delivery estate and drive a Terraform-first migration. You will build reusable modules for properties, rule trees and DNS, enabling self-service changes with automated checks.

You will work with AWS, GitLab CI/CD, and ServiceNow change control to ensure safe, auditable edge updates across multi-region delivery and latency-sensitive workloads.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in CDN/edge delivery engineering with hands-on Akamai expertise.
• Deep knowledge of Property Manager (Control Center) and PAPI.
• Automation-first mindset with infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD and ServiceNow change control.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident response skills.

Responsibilities

• Automate edge estate: migrate Akamai config to Terraform-first modules.
• Build self-service paths for edge changes with policy checks and tests.
• Integrate edge config into GitLab CI/CD and change control workflows.
• Develop tooling for Akamai APIs to reduce repetitive ops and drift.
• Own the edge delivery architecture across staging and production.
• Design routing, redirects, caching, and origin strategies across domains.
• Manage SSL/TLS lifecycle with certificate automation.
• Diagnose complex delivery incidents using Edge Diagnostics and logs.
• Collaborate with Platform teams to translate requirements into secure, performant config.
