Job summary

Capgemini UK is seeking a Senior or Lead Platform Engineer to design, build and operate secure, scalable, cloud-native platforms for public sector clients. You will shape strategy, governance and standards while delivering multi-cloud, GitOps-driven solutions and self-service capabilities.

You will lead workshops, champion observability and FinOps, and mentor teams, working in a hybrid model with on-site and client-facing engagements across the UK.

Qualifications

• Senior/Lead Platform Engineer with cloud-native experience.
• Experience designing secure multi-cloud landing zones and self-service platforms.
• BPSS baseline checks and SC clearance eligibility for UK residents.

Responsibilities

• Influence platform strategy, governance, and guardrails across the engagement.
• Lead technical workshops and design reviews with stakeholders.
• Define platform standards for security, reliability, operability, CI/CD, and observability.
• Define SLOs, improve reliability, and conduct incident reviews.
• Mentor engineers and promote platform-as-a-product thinking.
• Contribute hands-on to designs, code, and reviews while guiding others.
