Job summary

Just Eat Takeaway.com is seeking an experienced engineer to join our Intelligence Platform Core, shaping the Data & ML Platforms on AWS with Kubernetes-driven infrastructure. You will build scalable, self-service capabilities and mentor peers while collaborating across Data and ML teams.

You will contribute to platform interfaces, abstractions, and shared patterns, helping grow our pillar as we expand our team and capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience building cloud-native platforms on AWS, GCP or Azure with hands-on Kubernetes
• Proficient in Go for backend services, CLIs, or controllers/operators
• Experienced with GitOps and CI/CD, building reliable automation pipelines
• Understanding of distributed systems and scalable, resilient architectures
• Experience building self-service platforms or internal developer platforms (IDPs)
• Strong focus on developer experience, usability, and reducing cognitive load
• Clear communicator who collaborates across teams to drive platform adoption

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on design and implementation of platform capabilities using Kubernetes-native patterns and event-driven architectures.
• Drive adoption of platform engineering principles with reusable abstractions and self-service workflows for internal users.
• Design and implement Kubernetes controllers/operators in Go to automate infrastructure and lifecycle management.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to platform engineering best practices across Data and ML Platform teams.
• Collaborate across teams to align on platform interfaces, abstractions, and shared infrastructure patterns.
• Support hiring of new engineers as the team grows, maintaining code quality and collaboration.
