Job summary

Jain Global is seeking a Core Platform Developer to design and build shared backend foundations used across the firm. The role focuses on platform capabilities that improve how teams build, deploy, and operate software.

The ideal candidate will create reusable services, frameworks, and tooling, spanning API enablement, observability, and governance. This is a high-ownership position within a fast-moving engineering environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, with backend/platform focus.
• Strong Python programming for production services and tooling.
• Experience building backend services, APIs, and platform components in complex environments.
• Solid understanding of service architecture, API design, authentication, logging and monitoring.
• Hands-on experience with backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Node.js, or similar.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infra (preferably AWS).
• Experience designing reliable, scalable systems across multiple teams.
• Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and build shared backend services, frameworks, and tooling for internal application development.
• Develop platform capabilities like service templates, authentication patterns, API standards, and observability integrations.
• Improve developer experience through tooling, automation, and documentation.
• Define standards for service architecture, API design, deployment, monitoring, and operational support.
• Build reusable libraries and platform components to reduce duplication and promote consistency.
• Collaborate with application developers, infra, security and other stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.
• Support adoption of platform capabilities by reviewing designs and guiding implementation.
• Contribute to CI/CD, debugging, production support, and operational improvement.
• Explore AI-assisted developer workflows to boost productivity and quality.
