Job summary

Senior Platform Engineer at Bupa joining the team to design and operate a scalable, secure enterprise data platform supporting analytics and BI in healthcare and insurance. You will work with high autonomy, mentor junior engineers and drive technical excellence while ensuring compliance and performance.

This role emphasizes platform engineering over pure data engineering, welcoming data engineers with strong platform experience and IaC tooling. Flexible/hybrid options apply across locations.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in platform engineering with Azure-based data solutions.
• Expert knowledge of Azure and Snowflake services.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and building CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong observability practices including logging, metrics, and alerting.
• Cloud security principles in Azure and Snowflake (network isolation, IAM, data protection).
• Scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Collaborative mindset across engineering, data science and business teams.
• Leadership and mentoring experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and delivery of robust, automated data platform components (Azure/Snowflake).
• Develop infrastructure-as-code using Terraform for consistency across environments.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
• Implement observability practices with logging, metrics and alerting.
• Collaborate with Lead Engineer and Architects to align with standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to mid-level engineers.
