Job summary

Adria Solutions is recruiting a Senior Platform Engineer to own the AWS infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and monitoring, helping shape a new digital services platform in a hybrid Manchester setup.

You will lead cloud operations, security and reliability from the ground up, applying infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, and driving platform maturity while collaborating with a growing engineering team.

Qualifications

• At least two years' production experience in cloud platform engineering or SRE.
• Hands-on AWS infrastructure experience.
• Experience with Terraform or similar IaC.
• Knowledge of observability and incident management.
• Strong security awareness in regulated environments.
• Automation-first approach and ownership in an early-stage team.

Responsibilities

Senior Platform Engineer - AWS & Terraform

Manchester | Hybrid | £85,000 + benefits

Adria Solutions is recruiting a Senior Platform Engineer / SRE for a business developing a new digital services platform.

With established backing and its engineering team taking shape, the business needs an experienced engineer to build its cloud foundations and establish secure, reliable operations. You'll have significant influence over infrastructure, tooling and how the platform scales.

The role

Reporting to the CTO, you'll own the AWS infrastructure, deployment pipelines and monitoring capabilities that support the wider engineering team.

This is a hands-on opportunity to shape a platform from the ground up, combining cloud engineering, automation, security and production reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and operate AWS infrastructure using infrastructure as code.
• Build CI/CD pipelines that support frequent, reliable deployments.
• Establish monitoring, logging, tracing and alerting, with clear service reliability targets.
• Lead incident response, on-call practices and reviews that turn production issues into lasting improvements.
• Develop resilience and disaster recovery plans.
• Implement secrets management, network protection and identity and access controls.
• Support the technical controls required for PCI-DSS compliance and FCA requirements.
• Automate routine operations and reduce manual intervention.
• Create reusable tooling and self-service capabilities that help developers deliver efficiently.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and the long-term cloud strategy.

What we're looking for

• Strong experience in platform engineering, SRE or DevOps, supporting production systems at scale.
• Hands-on cloud infrastructure experience, ideally with AWS.
• Experience with Terraform or comparable infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD tooling.
• A solid understanding of observability and incident management.
• Strong cloud security knowledge and an understanding of operating within a regulated environment.
• An automation-first approach and confidence taking ownership in an early-stage team.
• At least two years' production experience operating cloud infrastructure as a Platform Engineer or SRE.

Desirable experience

• Building platforms for fintech, banking or payments businesses.
• Supporting compliance frameworks such as PCI-DSS, SOC 2 or ISO 27001.
• Establishing monitoring and on-call processes from scratch.
• Operating multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
