Job description

Opticore IT is currently seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Broadcast Media client. The role involves designing, building, and optimizing their custom tooling to facilitate the rollout of a new suite of services. The successful candidate will join our dynamic team, based in the London area, working two days a week.

Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy that offers a variety of opportunities within fast-paced, challenging environments across sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications, and more.

What you'll be doing:

• Collaborating closely with developers to design, build, and optimize custom tooling for the internal platform to support the deployment, testing, and optimization of new services built from open-source components.
• Planning and phasing work in accordance with team goals and broader engineering timelines.
• Participating in regular support and planning meetings, providing technical guidance, and ensuring progress aligns with platform standards.
• Mentoring and upskilling team members in the effective use of custom tooling, development workflows, and new services.
• Ensuring secure design and implementation practices, especially when working with systems handling Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
• Coordinating with permanent staff to ensure that services adhere to or extend existing guardrails and patterns.
