Job summary

Segen Ltd in the UK seeks a Senior Platform Engineer to shape our Azure-based infrastructure powering solar, storage, and EV charging solutions. You will work with engineering and product teams to deliver secure, scalable, automated systems on Azure.

You'll mentor engineers, drive IaC standards with Bicep or Terraform, and lead Azure DevOps pipelines. This hybrid role offers a collaborative culture, modern toolchain, and opportunity to influence platform strategy.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Azure infrastructure using IaC (Bicep or Terraform).
• Lead development of complex Azure DevOps pipelines using YAML.
• Bridge engineering teams and platform strategy to drive standards and observability.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to align infrastructure with goals.
• Mentor junior platform engineers through code reviews and guidance.
• Promote cloud security and monitor/alert for high availability.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, implement, and maintain Azure infrastructure using IaC (Bicep or Terraform).
• Lead development of complex Azure DevOps pipelines using YAML.
• Act as a bridge between engineering teams and platform strategy — advocating for standards, observability, and automation.
• Collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders to ensure infrastructure is aligned with business and technical goals.
• Mentor and support junior platform engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.
• Promote cloud security best practices and ensure compliance within infrastructure design. Contribute to the evolution of our monitoring and alerting systems to maintain high availability and performance.

What We’re Looking For

• Deep experience in Microsoft Azure, including Hub and Spoke networking.
• Strong proficiency with Azure DevOps pipelines and infrastructure as code tools like Bicep or Terraform.
• Track record of working on automated, secure, and resilient cloud systems.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
• Familiarity with modern development environments (e.g., Node.js, TypeScript, .NET) is a bonus.
• Proactive mindset with strong communication and mentoring skills.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of platform-level decisions and improvements.
