Senior Platform Support Engineer

We are hiring for a Senior Platform Engineer to join Made Tech’s Managed Service. You will be a part of Made Tech’s client-facing consultancy team, acting as a point of contact for queries from our clients and providing advice relevant to your area of expertise. You will have the opportunity to influence our clients' solutions and help to continuously improve services used daily by members of the public.

Your role

As a Senior Platform Support Engineer at Made Tech, you will work collaboratively within Managed Service teams onboarding new services without disruption, deliver enhancements, provide ongoing maintenance and support services, and continuously improve digital services and service operations using DevSecOps practices and data-driven user analytics. As a senior team member, you will leverage your experience to coach and develop junior team members and drive improvements across the service line.

Operating within a managed service environment, you will maintain a range of digital services, data services, and platform offerings. You will maintain application management procedures and documentation and manage application enhancements through to live operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Incident and problem management: Ensure support requests are handled according to standards, deliver resolutions within SLA, lead root cause analysis, provide out-of-hours support, implement security standards, and guide users and support agents.
  • Service monitoring and maintenance: Design monitoring solutions, automate performance monitoring, improve logging and alerting, update documentation, manage data backups, and use performance data to inform improvements.
  • Application and platform development: Implement enhancements, develop new code, maintain CI/CD pipelines, ensure compliance with security and data regulations, collaborate with SMEs, estimate effort, and apply TDD.
  • Service onboarding and transition: Participate in knowledge transfer, review code and documentation, onboard new services onto ITSM tools.
  • Learning and development: Share knowledge, adapt to client needs, learn emerging technologies, mentor colleagues, and support professional growth.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Deep knowledge of Azure and products like Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, Azure Load Testing, Azure Database for PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as .Net, React, Java, Ruby on Rails.
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform.
  • Experience with tiered technical support using ITIL methodologies.
  • Experience designing and implementing monitoring and alerting solutions.
