Job summary

TechMet Ltd. in Belfast seeks an Engineering Technician to service and repair heavy plant and equipment, under the Head of Engineering. You will inspect, service and maintain mechanical and electrical installations, including cranes, substations and street lighting.

The role requires a recognised apprenticeship in mechatronic/electrical/mechanical engineering, at least 5 years of relevant experience, and a UK driving licence. Strong data capture skills and PLC fault-finding ability are preferred.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship in mechatronic/electrical/mechanical engineering or related training.
• Minimum 5 years of electrical/mechanical maintenance and repair experience.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Computer literate; able to record technical data for reports.
• Ideally experienced in fault finding on PLC controlled equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide servicing, maintenance and repair of mechanical or electrical plant and equipment, including cranes and substations.
• Interpret technical instructions and apply maintenance planning processes.
• Support Engineers and Shift Leads with risk assessments for maintenance activities.
• Assist in adopting new technology and engineering innovations.
