Job summary

Carrington West is assisting a West Midlands Local Authority in recruiting a Senior Planning Policy Officer. The role focuses on developing policy content toward the Local Plan, with emphasis on national planning policy and planning legislation, for delivery under tight deadlines.

The post requires a degree and preferably a Master's, with strong communication skills and Local Authority experience, offering a 6-month initial contract and a rate of £40–£50 per hour inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Experience with national planning policy and Local Authority background.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines with minimal supervision and prioritise workload.
• Focus on developing broad policy content toward the Local Plan.
• Degree and preferably a Masters in a relevant field.
• Strong knowledge of planning legislation and process; excellent communication skills.
