Job summary

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council is seeking a Senior Planning Officer for the Development Control Team. You will assess both complex and non-complex planning applications and report to Committee, with supervision of Officers and guidance from a Principal Planning Officer.

You should have recent development control experience, be an effective communicator, and hold RTPI membership or be eligible for membership within 12 months. The role offers hybrid working and local government benefits.

Qualifications

• Recent and relevant development control experience including enforcement.
• Ability to handle complex planning applications and negotiate legal agreements.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills; able to work in a team.
• Membership of RTPI or eligible for membership within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Process complex and non-complex planning applications.
• Prepare delegated reports and reports for Committee; present at Committee.
• Supervise Planning Officers and mentor team members.
• Support in delivery and management of Development Control Service.
