This is an exciting and rare opportunity for a suitably qualified planner to take up a key role within the Council's Planning and Regeneration service, helping to drive Swansea's ambitious forward planning and placemaking agenda.
The role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of projects focused on shaping future development in Swansea and delivering positive outcomes for people and nature. Swansea's distinctive natural and built environments include vibrant urban areas, extensive rural hinterlands such as the Gower Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and spectacular coastal locations.
You will play a senior role in driving key projects for Swansea and gain experience in strategic planning, including: preparation of the replacement Local Development Plan (LDP) and associated planning guidance; collaboration with stakeholders to facilitate scheme delivery; conducting strategic planning research and assessments; providing professional advice on planning applications; monitoring planning outcomes; and other duties aimed at enhancing Swansea's environment.
Candidates should have relevant experience, hold an appropriate professional qualification, and be a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute or seeking to gain membership.
