A leading company in construction seeks an experienced construction planner to manage fitout and asset replacement works. Job description

About you:

You have a desire to learn and are willing to step outside of your comfort zone. You are digitally savvy, capable of building lasting client relationships, and able to work alongside strong, motivated teams. You have experience working on large projects or programmes, hold a relevant degree, and have a background in construction or project management. You are eager to grow your career and explore the opportunities Mace offers.

Ideally, you are registered and working towards a professional qualification (e.g., APM, PMI, CIOB).

You are proficient in Primavera P6, Microsoft Office suite, and have experience with NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.

Fitout experience and a background in delivery are prerequisites. A background in construction management or project management is preferred.

The Planning role:

This role requires an experienced construction planner to manage fitout and asset replacement works.

Key attributes:
  • Learn and understand Gatwick-specific milestones and durations to build robust schedules.
  • Use information from the team, supply chain, and benchmark data to produce clear programmes in Primavera P6, conforming to Mace standards.
  • Understand QSRA risk analysis requirements and develop programmes conforming to the DCMA 14-point assessment method.
  • Create schedule hierarchies from level 1 to 5 and communicate these to the project team.
  • Develop detailed trade contractor schedules covering design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Update programmes with progress and changes, and report monthly.
  • Manage short-term planning on live projects.
  • Incorporate trade contractors’ schedules into the Mace schedule.
  • Communicate scheduling and planning matters effectively to all project members, including Mace, the client, the design team, and trade contractors.
  • Conduct site walks to assess progress and health and safety compliance.
  • Manage trade contractors’ progress reporting and integrate this into the Mace schedule hierarchy.
  • Create and monitor KPIs, producing weekly/monthly dashboards and reports.
  • Input KPI and output data into the Mace planning database.
  • Participate in change management to assess impacts on the programme.
  • Prepare time impact analyses to support Compensation Events.
