We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Planning Manager to join our team within Vistry Northern Home Counties, at our Milton Keynes office. Reporting to the Technical Director the Senior Planning Manager will be responsible for managing a number of large-scale residential developments through the planning process to deliver high quality urban design and design solutions for the region.

Although the role is titled a Senior Planning Manager the successful candidate could be from either an Architectural/Design background or a Planning background. Both will be considered. The candidate will be expected to work with the technical team and other departments to ensure planning permissions are delivered in a timely manner and to budget.

More about the Senior Planning Manager role

Organise and programme the design team, ensuring targets and deadlines are met for planning applications, clearance of conditions and technical information for pre-tenders.

Prepare design briefs, tender packages and commission design works being undertaken by external consultants.

Take the lead in discussions with all relevant bodies and Local Planning Authorities, in conjunction with civil engineers, and engage with the public through exhibitions.

Assist the land department in the preparation of sketch layouts that maximise land offers.

Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Technical Department in conjunction with the Technical Director and other technical managers.

Manage the day-to-day activities of all design team personnel.

Liaise and co-ordinate information with the Technical, Engineering and Commercial teams throughout the planning lifecycle.

Manage and review the design development process ensuring value engineering and buildability are considered.

Regular site visits and reports to ensure construction is in accordance with planning approved specifications and details.

Manage the recruitment and induction of new employees in line with the Company's policy.

Identify training needs for your team and discuss them with the Group Training and Development Officer.
