Senior Planning and Highways Solicitor

Southeast Local Authority
Rate: £50-£60 per hour - Negotiable DOE
Contract: 3-6 months - likely to be extended

Remote Working

We are currently working with a County Council in the southwest region who are looking to recruit a dedicated Senior Lawyer to take a lead role in delivering high-quality legal advice and shaping development across the county.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal advice in planning and highways law.
  • Supervise and support a team of lawyers within the legal services function.
  • Represent the Council in meetings, committees, and inquiries.
  • Draft complex legal documentation and provide creative, solution-focused advice.

Key Requirements

  • Qualified as a Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive.
  • Extensive experience in planning and/or highways law within a local authority setting.
  • Excellent drafting, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to convey complex legal issues clearly to various audiences.
