Job summary

Balfour Beatty Power Transmission & Distribution is seeking a Planner or Senior Planner to join the Woolavington (Apollo) Substation Project near Bridgwater, Somerset. You will develop and manage detailed, fully resourced programmes, support pre-construction and delivery, and help ensure on-time project delivery.

You will work with experienced teams, influence delivery decisions, and apply NEC3/NEC4 contracts, earned value management, and risk techniques to drive performance.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
  • Significant planning experience within major infrastructure, utilities, power or energy projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and Asta Powerproject; strong reporting skills.
  • Strong understanding of NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
  • Experience in earned value management, QSRA and programme risk management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to lead planning activities independently whilst supporting wider project teams.

About the role

Are you an experienced Planner or Senior Planner looking to play a key role in delivering one of the UK's most significant energy infrastructure projects?

At Balfour Beatty Power Transmission & Distribution, we're helping to build the infrastructure needed to support the UK's transition to Net Zero. We're looking for a talented Planner or Senior Planner to join our team on the exciting Woolavington (Apollo) Substation Project, located near Bridgwater, Somerset.

This major infrastructure scheme will play a vital role in strengthening the UK's electricity network and supporting future energy demands. As part of the project team, you'll be involved in planning and controlling project delivery from inception through to completion, helping to ensure successful execution of this high-profile programme.
