Job summary

A leading UK construction consultancy in London is hiring an Associate Director (Planning Manager) for its Construction Advisory team. This client-side role focuses on independent planning and programme advice for major projects, with regular site visits and collaboration with the planning team.

The successful candidate will bring senior contractor planner experience, lead on time and risk reviews, mentor junior planners, and help grow the team as projects scale to £200m+ value.

Qualifications

• Main contractor planning experience within the last six years (current consultancy candidates welcome).
• Both pre-construction and on-site planning experience.
• Large-scale schemes, ideally £200m+ construction value.
• Recent consultancy or client-side advisory experience.
• Delay analysis and extension-of-time support.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review programmes from feasibility to handover in Asta Powerproject.
• Independently assess contractor programmes, progress and delay risk, including regular site visits.
• Advise clients on sequencing, logistics, buildability and procurement during pre-construction.
• Report programme position and risk clearly to clients and senior stakeholders.
• Lead commissions on time and within fee, and support bids and business development.
• Manage and develop planners, and help grow the team.
