The Company

A UK-based renewable energy developer backed by experienced industry professionals and strong financial partners is seeking a Senior Planner to support the delivery of its growing portfolio of Battery Energy Storage and Solar PV projects.

With over 4GW of development experience behind them, the company is acquiring and developing projects at scale, from early-stage through to RtB assets.

The Role

You will take the lead on planning strategy across multiple UK projects, helping bring forward vital renewable energy infrastructure. You’ll work across the full planning lifecycle, from site identification through to submission and determination.

This is a chance to step into a dynamic environment where your planning knowledge and leadership will directly impact the growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex planning applications across England & Wales.
  • Attend meetings with local authorities, stakeholders and third-party consultants.
  • Support site selection, due diligence and development strategy with planning insights.
  • Interpret policy, monitor regulatory change and contribute to long-term planning risk strategy.

Requirements

  • Degree in Planning or related field (RTPI accreditation desirable).
  • Experience in a planning role (consultancy or local authority ideal).
  • Understanding of UK planning law and policy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in renewables (solar/BESS) is a plus, but not essential.
