Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Town Planner to join our expanding team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in town planning, with extensive experience in managing complex projects across urban and rural settings. You will be responsible for delivering strategic planning advice, preparing and submitting planning applications, and leading on a range of exciting regeneration projects across the North West of England.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage planning projects, including large-scale developments, mixed-use regeneration schemes, and infrastructure projects.
  • Provide expert advice to clients on planning policy, legislation, and strategy.
  • Prepare, submit, and manage planning applications, including supporting documents and planning statements.
  • Represent clients in planning appeals, public consultations, and committee meetings.
  • Mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support to help them develop their professional skills.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, and environmental consultants.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in planning policy and local government strategies, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including securing new clients and managing existing relationships.

What We're Looking For:

  • RTPI Chartered Town Planner (or eligible to apply for chartership).
  • Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in town planning.
  • Strong knowledge of local planning policy, the development control process, and statutory planning procedures in England.
  • Proven experience in managing planning applications and navigating complex planning issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with planning software and GIS tools is advantageous.
  • A proactive and solution-focused attitude.
