Job summary

Cooper Moss Rutland in Reading (hybrid) is seeking a Senior Planner to lead construction scheduling, cost and risk alignment, and stakeholder collaboration. Immediate start, full-time role with a residential focus across the UK.

The successful candidate will own schedule development, validation, and governance, interfacing with cost, risk, and supplier teams, while driving continuous improvement and robust plans.

Qualifications

• DV/SC Clearance required; willing to obtain DV clearance if needed.
• Experience in a construction or infrastructure environment.
• Solid scheduling expertise, including Primavera P6.
• Previous Senior Planner level experience with schedule ownership and coordination.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Understanding of schedule hierarchy, integration, governance and change control.
• Familiarity with NEC or FIDIC contracts.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to support planning discussions with internal teams, clients, suppliers and stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust, realistic and defensible construction schedules.
• Develop schedule estimates for construction works, ensuring alignment to scope, delivery strategy and assumptions.
• Define the Basis of Estimate for the construction schedule scope, including key assumptions, exclusions and constraints.
• Support planning leadership across the programme, ensuring schedule quality, logic, integration and governance.
• Work closely with Cost and Risk Management teams to align estimates and schedule impacts.
• Work with the Risk team to support the QSRA process; identify and manage interfaces.
• Work closely with stakeholders ensuring buy-in to the Programme’s construction schedule.
• Review supplier and contractor schedules, challenge logic, assumptions, progress and deliverability.
• Ensure schedule estimates are validated through benchmark data, design information and BIM.
