Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick, part of VolkerWessels UK, is seeking a Senior Planner for its Building Division in the Southern Region. The role is based at the Hoddesdon head office with regular site visits and hybrid working available. A full UK driving licence is essential.

You will lead pre-construction and delivery planning for projects from £1M to £100M across commercial, education, health & life sciences, and defence sectors, influencing outcomes and ensuring robust programmes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction planning within the main contracting sector.
• Strong track record on tenders and live projects valued £1M–£100M.
• Proficient in Asta Powerproject; experience with P6 preferred.
• Understanding of JCT and NEC contract conditions and their impact on planning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and produce fully logic linked and integrated bid-winning programmes covering design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and handover strategies.
• Visit sites regularly to provide hands-on planning support and resolve challenges.
• Monitor progress and identify risks early, implementing proactive solutions.
• Provide expert planning advice across multiple projects to influence outcomes.
