Job description

Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Planner to work within Water on our United Utilities AMP8 Framework.

We provide end-to-end services for major water and sewage companies such as Thames Water, Severn Trent Water, Northern Ireland Water, Yorkshire Water, and United Utilities. We also serve several water-only companies including SES Water, Bristol Water, and South East Water.

Additionally, we provide a full design, build, operate, and maintain service for Uisce Éireann, operating over 25 of their facilities to ensure efficiency and compliance with EPA regulations.

A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Planner
  1. Undertake the tender planning role in accordance with business procedures and contract requirements.
  2. Prepare integrated, whole-life programmes from first principles.
  3. Contribute to written submission materials.
  4. Attend bid review meetings to clarify work scope and delivery plans.
  5. Participate in handover meetings to define work scope and tasks.
  6. Advise project team on feedback reports in consultation with Estimator.
  7. Coach and mentor planning staff for their professional development.
  8. Ensure programmes are appropriately scheduled, compliant, robust, and achievable.
  9. Participate in programme risk workshops using tools like QSRA.
  10. Maintain effective communication and collaborative relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  11. Manage Compensation events from Subcontractors and to Clients.
