Job summary

A leading engineering and construction company is seeking a Senior Planner to manage project documentation, prepare detailed planning programmes, and contribute to risk analysis on civil engineering projects. Ideal candidates will have experience in the sector and proficiency in planning software. This role allows candidates to be based anywhere in the UK with some travel requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience with oil and gas projects is desirable.
  • Active experience with various planning techniques for tendering and contract delivery.
  • Ability to be based anywhere in the UK with occasional travel.

A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Planner:

  1. Assimilate information and summarise it for effective communication of work scope.
  2. Prepare a resourced programme, reviewing it for conformance with expectations.
  3. Contribute to the risk register and undertake programme risk analysis.
  4. Prepare visual materials supporting planned methods.
  5. Manage project documentation systematically.
  6. Define methods and establish outputs in consultation with the estimator and team, including supply chain considerations.
  7. Liaise with design engineers to establish a design brief for temporary works.
  8. Provide the estimator with a justified schedule of temporary works and indirect costs.
  9. Attend bid review meetings to clarify work scope and delivery plans.
  10. Participate in handover meetings to define work scope and tasks.
  11. Advise project team on feedback reports and support in consultation with the estimator.
