You will lead project planning activities, develop detailed schedules with Primavera P6, and ensure alignment with NEC contracts, delivering progress analysis, risk management and strategic programme guidance.

The ideal candidate has proven civils project experience, strong Primavera P6 know-how, and excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Senior Planning Engineer or Planning Engineer on highways, roads, or major infrastructure projects.
Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6.
In-depth understanding of NEC contracts.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ideally degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

Title: Senior Planning Engineer
Location: York (hybrid)
Salary: 70-85,000 + car allowance + package

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join one of the UK's leading main contractors, working on a 150m infrastructure project in York.
As Senior Planning Engineer, you'll take the lead on project planning activities, working closely with the delivery and commercial teams to ensure the programme is realistic, achievable, and aligned with NEC contract requirements. From developing detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 to providing progress analysis, risk management, and strategic programme advice, you'll play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of this exciting infrastructure project.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record on major civils projects. Strong experience with Primavera P6 is essential, along with a solid understanding of NEC contracts. You'll need excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach, and the ability to manage complex project timelines in a fast-paced environment.
