Responsibilities

As a Senior Town Planner, your key responsibilities will include:

* Preparing Local Plan representations and developing planning strategies to promote land and development opportunities.
* Drafting Planning Statements and other key documentation to support planning applications.
* Assisting Planning Directors in managing complex planning casework and delivering successful outcomes for clients.
* Liaising with local authorities, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Mentoring and guiding junior planners, graduates, and apprentices to support their professional growth.
* Contributing to business development initiatives and networking activities to expand the consultancy's client base.
* Engaging with internal knowledge-sharing groups and planning networks to stay at the forefront of industry developments.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

* MRTPI chartered status with relevant experience in planning consultancy.
* A strong understanding of the UK planning system, with particular knowledge of planning policies and practices in Wales.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports and presentations.
* Commercial awareness and the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
* A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

Day-to-Day

On a typical day, you can expect to:

* Prepare and review planning documentation, including Planning Statements and Local Plan representations.
